The fancy cafe meme, explained
In the "POV: Your first time in a fancy cafe" video, a man sits on a tiny round steel table in a bare concrete cafe, sipping his coffee as if it were a stool. A woman walks in, sits on the concrete ledge and puts her cup on the table; he looks over, realises, and quietly climbs down to sit properly. The AI-made clip was posted on TikTok by @leehoustonx on 1 November 2026 and passed 9 million views in two days; on 2 November creator Kevin Winnik (@kevkevkiwi) posted his own version, and people started remaking it with their own faces.

About the sound
Your video already has sound. To use the trending sound instead, search for "first time in a fancy cafe" in the app and turn the original sound down first.
Troubleshooting
My face looks less like my photo
Use one sharp, front-facing photo in good light with nothing covering the face. The camera stays wide like the original, so faces are small in the frame; a full-body photo helps keep your outfit and build too. Each generation is a new take.
My friend and I swapped places
Photo 1 is the one sitting on the table; photo 2 walks in and sits on the ledge. Swap the two photos if you want it the other way round.
The person who walks in looks like someone I know
With one photo, the person who walks in is made up by the AI and is not anyone real. If you want a real friend in that role, use the two-photo style with their photo (an adult who agreed).
My photo was refused
Use one consenting adult with a visible face in each photo. Photos with minors or sexual content are refused. Several people or no clear person in the photo gets a warning, not a refusal; you can still go ahead. Celebrities are not allowed: there is no automatic check, but we remove videos we find or that are reported. Retry later if checks are unavailable.
The video failed
If a video fails, the credit comes back automatically. If we can't confirm whether it was made, the credit is held and support sorts it out. Check My videos before retrying. A finished take you dislike is not a failed task, but you can use the free remake (one per account, for a paid video made in the last 14 days).
Questions
What is the "first time in a fancy cafe" meme?
A short video captioned "POV: Your first time in a fancy cafe". In a minimalist concrete cafe, someone sits on a tiny round table as if it were a stool, until another guest walks in, sits on the concrete ledge and uses the table for their cup. The first person realises and climbs down. Here you can make it with your own face.
How do I make the fancy cafe AI video?
Upload one clear photo of yourself, or two photos if a friend should walk in, and pay once. The cafe, camera, timing and sound are set for you, so you do not write a prompt or install an app. Download the MP4 when it is ready; it waits in My videos.
How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes; busy times can take longer. Your finished video waits in My videos.
How much does it cost? Is there a subscription?
1 HD video: $4.99; 3 videos: $11.99; 10 videos: $29.99. One-time packs, no subscription. One video is 15 seconds in 720p with sound and no watermark.
One photo or two?
With one photo you are the one on the table and the guest who walks in is a made-up AI person. With two photos, photo 1 sits on the table and photo 2 walks in. Each photo needs one adult who agreed, face visible.
Does the video have sound?
Yes. The downloaded video already has sound, so you can post it as it is. If you add another track in the app, turn the original sound down first.
Is there a caption on the video?
No. The video has no text, so you can add your own "POV: your first time in a fancy cafe" caption in the app when you post.
Which photos can I use?
Yourself or adults who agreed to appear. A sharp, front-facing photo in good light works best, ideally full body. No children and no celebrities.
What if the video fails?
If a video fails, the credit comes back automatically. If we can't confirm whether it was made, the credit is held and support sorts it out.
